Duck, NC Oceanfront Real Estate

Duck is one of the most popular seaside resort towns on the East Coast, yet it has managed to maintain its family-oriented charm and relaxed, small-town pace. Duck and its beaches have been lauded by The Travel Channel and other national travel sites, and rightfully so. The beaches are wide, clean and relatively uncrowded, due in part to the fact that there are no public beach accesses; renters, homeowners and residents are the only ones allowed convenient beach access in Duck.

One of the main draws of Duck is that you can walk or ride bikes wherever you need to go within town. A multi-use path, safe side streets and a very low speed limit on Duck Road (N.C. 12) make it safe for pedestrians to travel to the beach, to watersports outfitters along Currituck Sound, to the fabulous boardwalk and amphitheater of Duck Town Park or into the commercial section of the village, which includes a wealth of independently owned shops and restaurants connected in a well-planned, pedestrian-friendly layout.

Duck’s oceanfront and semi-oceanfront real estate market offers a blend of large luxury homes and modest beach-style homes, and because of its popularity as a vacation resort, Duck’s vacation rental market is thriving. The town’s residential areas are divided into planned developments and communities, some offering amenities and beach access.

Barrier Island Station, Duck, NC
Barrier Island Station is an oceanside community of condominium-style hotel and timeshare suites . Suites have one, two or three bedrooms, and each includes a full kitchen, washer/dryer and fireplace. Community amenities include direct beach access, an in-season lifeguard, an outdoor pool and hot tub, a sauna, tennis courts, a fitness center and a playground.
Carolina Dunes, Duck, NC
About a mile north of Duck village, Carolina Dunes stretches from sound to ocean and consists of 230 homes, most of them built in the 1970s and ‘80s but some of them newer. Managed by a voluntary homeowner’s association, but covered by The Town of Duck’s services, Carolina Dunes offers beach accesses, an in-season lifeguard and a soundside access lot.
Colony by the Sea, Duck, NC
In the town limits of Duck, Colony by the Sea consists of cottages and four buildings of condominiums situated between the ocean and the sound. Community amenities include a beach-side pool, beach access, a grill and picnic area, tennis courts, a playground, a basketball court, two oceanfront gazebos and boardwalks to the beach. Duck village is within walking distance.
Duck Blind Villas, Duck, NC
Duck Blind Villas is a condominium complex on the oceanfront in the heart of Duck. Each unit has three bedrooms and a full kitchen. Complex amenities include beach access, an in-season lifeguard, an oceanside pool, outdoor showers, a grilling area, a fish-cleaning station, wooden walkways, a basketball hoop, a horseshoe pit and access to the town’s multi-use path.
Duck Landing, Duck, NC
The closest residential community to Duck Town Park, Duck Landing consists of about 50 homes along Duck Landing Lane from N.C. 12 to the oceanfront. Managed by a homeowner’s association, Duck Landing offers private beach access, a beachside shower, an indoor pool, a clubhouse/activity center, a tennis court, an exercise room and a playground.
Duck Ridge Shores, Duck, NC
Duck Ridge Shores is an oceanside community very close to the village of Duck and Duck Town Park. The community of single-family homes offers a private beach access.
Four Seasons, Duck, NC PUD
Homeowners and renters in the Four Seasons community enjoy beach access with parking; a clubhouse with an indoor pool, a fitness facility and a game room; a trolley that travels to the beach and into the village; a lighted exercise trail and sidewalks leading to the beach; an outdoor pool; a soundside pier; a playground; volleyball courts, tennis courts and a basketball court. The community is within walking distance of Duck village.
Northpoint, Duck, NC
Northpoint community is a co-ownership community that offers ocean and sound accesses, a 100-foot pier on the Currituck Sound (perfect for sunset watching), a glass-enclosed indoor heated pool, men’s and women’s changing facilities, two tennis courts, picnic tables and a basketball goal. The village of Duck is accessible from Northpoint via the multi-use bike path.
Ocean Crest, Duck, NC
Ocean Crest is conveniently located just a short walk or bike ride from Duck village, yet it feels a world away from the busy town center. On the oceanside of the community there’s a private beach access with parking. On the soundside there are tennis courts, an outdoor pool with sound views, and restrooms.
Port Trinitie, Duck, NC
Active families enjoy Port Trinitie’s ocean and sound beach accesses, two community pools (one on the oceanside and one on the soundside), tennis courts, soundside pier and small boat ramp. The community offers residential homes and townhouses and is about 3 miles north of Duck village.
Ships Watch, Duck, NC
This private community stretches from ocean to sound and features a private beach accesses, a 200-foot soundside pier, a boat launch, two tennis courts, a solar-heated pool and spa, community events, easy access to Duck village and  year-round staff on hand to assist owners and renters. Ships Watch homes, which range from three to five bedrooms, are sold on a fractional co-ownership basis with each owner possessing five weeks, or one-tenth ownership.
Schooner Ridge, Duck, NC
Schooner Ridge is in the heart of Duck, offering quick access to Duck Town Park and all of the town’s restaurants and shops. Its Outer Banks traditional-style homes in range from four to six bedrooms and some offer fantastic views from high elevations. Schooner Ridge is one of the best-equipped communities in Duck, with an oceanfront outdoor pool, a beach access with parking, tennis courts, a playground, an oceanfront gazebo and a community clubhouse that offers racquetball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a workout room and a video game room.
Tuckahoe, Duck, NC
With 83 homes, Tuckahoe is a large sound-to-ocean community in the village of Duck. Owners and guests enjoy an outdoor pool, tennis courts, ocean access with parking and soundside access.
SeaHawk, Duck, NC
SeaHawk is one of the newer communities in the village of Duck. Homes are on the soundside and oceanside, and the neighborhood is close to the village center and offers beach access.
